Have you ever seen these golf training clubs that weigh a pound or more? The question is "Do they really work?" Do they help you swing faster? In my quest for more distance I have done a lot of research as to whether these clubs really do increase swing speed. I wanted to know exactly how to train with weighted clubs and how much weight...
After doing some research I found out that the long drive professional training with a weight just slightly heavier than their regular club. Apparently if the weight is too heavy the fast-twitch muscle fibers do not engage. I have bought a lot of swing aides over the years and I find that one that works quite well is the simple little "donut" swing weight. Now remember when you go to buy one of these they are sold in two types and weights. There is the regular version and the pro version. The pro version being heavier. I suggest the lighter base model. This may seem counter intuitive, but remember that you want only a slight difference in swing weight. I will be writing about other training aides in the future to help you swing faster, but this should start you off.
